Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. Who we are
This privacy policy explains how Gorantla Labs ("we", "us") handles personal data in connection with this website, gorantlalabs.com, and our HiveFoldr app.
Gorantla Labs is an independent software studio based in the United Kingdom. Gorantla Labs is not currently a registered UK limited company. For the purposes of data protection law, the data controller — for both the website and HiveFoldr — is Sivasankar Gorantla, who operates as an individual trading as Gorantla Labs.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers two things: this website, gorantlalabs.com, and the HiveFoldr app. Sections 3 to 12 below explain HiveFoldr specifically. Sections 13 to 18 explain the gorantlalabs.com website specifically. The remaining sections — your rights, how to complain, changes to this policy, and how to contact us — apply to both.
This policy does not cover any other Gorantla Labs product.
3. HiveFoldr
HiveFoldr (formerly called NivasIQ) is a Gorantla Labs app that helps you keep track of information about your home — such as its documents, warranties, maintenance, assets and expenses. This section explains what personal data HiveFoldr collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with.
4. Information you provide to HiveFoldr
Account information
When you create a HiveFoldr account, you provide an email address and a password, or sign in with Google or Apple — in which case we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) from that provider. You can optionally add a display name and a profile photo.
Property and home information
You can add details about your home, such as its address, property type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, purchase date, and a home photo. You can also look up your home's postcode, Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating, and historical sale price and date — see "Property and address lookups" below.
Documents and photos
You can upload documents — such as warranties, manuals, certificates and receipts — and photos of your home, rooms, assets and renovation projects.
Household invitations
If you invite someone to your household, we store information about that invitation (a short code, which expires after 7 days if unused) and, once accepted, who joined.
5. Information created or stored through HiveFoldr
As you use HiveFoldr, we store the records you create: rooms, assets (such as appliances), warranties, maintenance tasks, reminders, expenses, renovation projects, trades and suppliers you add, and your home's timeline history. We also store an internal identifier for your account and your notification preference.
6. Documents and AI processing
HiveFoldr includes two optional AI-powered features, both powered by Anthropic's Claude AI models: Ask HiveFoldr, a conversational assistant, and AI document analysis, which extracts structured information from documents you upload.
Before either feature is used for the first time, HiveFoldr asks for your consent. If you decline, these features are not used, and you can continue using the rest of HiveFoldr without them. You can change your mind at any time by giving or revoking this consent in the app's settings; once revoked, HiveFoldr stops sending your content to Anthropic for these purposes.
Ask HiveFoldr
When you ask a question, we send your conversation and a snapshot of the relevant records from your home — such as its property details, rooms, document titles and categories (not the documents' contents), assets, warranties, tasks, expenses, saved trade and supplier contacts, renovation projects, and home history — to Anthropic's API, so that Anthropic can generate a response grounded in your own data. We keep a record of your Ask HiveFoldr conversations within your account so you can refer back to them; this is deleted if you delete your account, as described in "Retention and deletion" below.
AI document analysis
When you ask HiveFoldr to analyse a document, the document or photo itself — along with your existing room and asset names, so HiveFoldr can suggest matches — is sent to Anthropic's API to extract structured information, such as a document type, supplier, dates and amount. You review and confirm any extracted information before it's saved to your records; HiveFoldr does not save AI-suggested information automatically.
In both cases, Anthropic processes this content on our behalf, acting as our processor for that purpose. We have not independently verified Anthropic's specific data-retention or model-training practices for content processed through its API on our behalf. Anthropic's own privacy policy and terms, available at anthropic.com/legal, describe its current practices, and we recommend reviewing them directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
7. Property and address lookups
HiveFoldr includes optional property-lookup features. If you look up your address by postcode, or check your property's Energy Performance Certificate or historical sale price, the postcode or address you search is sent to the relevant external service to perform that lookup:
- Postcodes.io and HM Land Registry's Price Paid Data — free, public UK data sources, contacted directly from your device; we do not see or store this specific request on our own servers.
- getAddress.io, a third-party UK address-lookup provider, and the UK Government's Energy Performance of Buildings register — contacted via our own backend on your behalf.
We do not store the results of a lookup unless you choose to add them to your home's records.
8. How we use HiveFoldr information
We use the information described above to:
- provide and operate HiveFoldr's features for you;
- enable household sharing, where you choose to use it;
- provide the AI features you've consented to, as described in section 6;
- maintain the security of your account and HiveFoldr's systems; and
- respond to support enquiries you send us.
We do not use your HiveFoldr data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.
We process most HiveFoldr information to provide you with the app, under our contract with you (our HiveFoldr Terms of Use). Where we process information for HiveFoldr's AI features, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time as described in section 6. We do not use HiveFoldr information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
9. How HiveFoldr information is stored and shared
Supabase
We use Supabase, a third-party backend platform, to handle HiveFoldr's account authentication and to store the data described above, in its database and file storage. Supabase acts as our processor for this data. Supabase also sends certain account-related emails on our behalf, such as password-reset emails, as part of its authentication service. More information is available in Supabase's privacy policy.
Anthropic, and the property-lookup providers
As described in sections 6 and 7, Anthropic processes content you submit to HiveFoldr's AI features, and Postcodes.io, HM Land Registry, getAddress.io and the UK Government's EPC register process the postcode or address you search, each acting as our processor (or, for Postcodes.io and HM Land Registry, receiving your request directly) for that purpose.
We have not independently verified the full list of infrastructure subprocessors that Supabase, Anthropic or getAddress.io may themselves rely on, or the specific countries in which they process HiveFoldr data; where this involves transferring your personal data outside the United Kingdom, the relevant provider is responsible for ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place under its own terms. Postcodes.io, HM Land Registry and the EPC register are UK-based public data sources.
10. Household sharing
You can invite someone to your household using a short invite code, which expires after 7 days if not accepted. Once someone joins your household, that household's home information — such as its property details, rooms, assets, documents, warranties, tasks, reminders, expenses, renovation projects and timeline — becomes visible to them, in line with the sharing features described within the app. You should only share a household with people you trust.
11. Retention and deletion
We keep your HiveFoldr account and app data for as long as your account remains open. HiveFoldr lets you permanently delete your account within the app's settings; when you do, we delete your account and, for a home you solely own, its associated data and files, generally immediately. If you own a home that is shared with other household members, you'll need to remove them from it first, so that their access to the shared home isn't affected; if you're a member of someone else's household rather than its owner, deleting your account removes only your own account, leaving that home and its other members' data untouched. We may retain limited information where we need to for a legal, security or fraud-prevention reason. We have not set out a fixed retention schedule beyond this.
You can also export a copy of your HiveFoldr data at any time from within the app's settings.
12. Children
HiveFoldr is intended for use by adults managing their own homes. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. The gorantlalabs.com website
We collect very little personal data through this website.
Visiting this website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or any tracking tools. It is hosted on infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc. As part of operating and securing that infrastructure, Vercel independently collects and processes certain technical data, such as IP addresses, browser type, and the pages requested. For this data, Vercel acts as an independent controller under its own privacy notice, rather than as a processor acting on our instructions. We do not control this data and do not have routine access to it.
Contacting us
You can contact us at hello@gorantlalabs.com. This address is hosted using Microsoft 365. Sending us an email means Microsoft processes the message content and associated metadata (such as the sender and recipient addresses and subject line) as part of delivering, storing and securing it on our behalf. We use your email address and the contents of your message only to read and respond to you, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
We do not otherwise collect personal data through this website. There are no contact forms, newsletters, user accounts, or advertising on this site.
14. Cookies
This website does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
15. Our lawful basis for website processing
Where we determine the purpose and means of processing personal data, we rely on legitimate interests: specifically, responding to enquiries sent to us by email. We do not rely on consent for any processing on this website, and we do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.
The technical data described in section 13 is collected and processed by Vercel as an independent controller, under its own lawful basis and privacy notice, not under our instruction. HiveFoldr's own lawful basis is explained in section 8 above.
16. Who we share website information with
We do not sell or share personal data for marketing purposes, and we do not otherwise disclose the contents of your emails to any other party. As explained in section 13: email sent to us is processed by Microsoft, via Microsoft 365, acting as our processor for that purpose under Microsoft's own standard terms; and this website is hosted by Vercel, which acts as an independent controller for the technical data described in section 13, not as our processor. HiveFoldr's own third-party providers are described in section 9 above.
17. International transfers
Vercel Inc. is based in the United States. As explained in section 13, Vercel acts as an independent controller for the technical data it collects as part of hosting this website, and is responsible for ensuring that its own handling of that data — including any processing outside the United Kingdom — complies with applicable data protection law. More information is available in Vercel's privacy policy.
Microsoft, which hosts our email via Microsoft 365, may process email data outside the United Kingdom as part of its global infrastructure. Microsoft states that its standard terms for its online services include contractual protections for international transfers of personal data. We have not independently verified which specific safeguards apply to our particular subscription; Microsoft's own privacy and compliance documentation describes its approach in detail, available in Microsoft's privacy statement. HiveFoldr's own international transfers are described in section 9 above.
18. How long we keep website information
We keep email correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and any related follow-up, and delete it once it's no longer needed. We do not control, and do not determine, how long Vercel retains the technical data described in section 13 — Vercel's own privacy notice describes its practices. HiveFoldr's own retention and deletion practices are described in section 11 above.
19. Your rights
In relation to personal data we control — such as your email correspondence with us, or your HiveFoldr account data — you have the right, under UK data protection law, to:
- ask for access to personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate personal data;
- ask us to delete personal data, in certain circumstances; and
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your personal data.
Where we process your information under a contract with you or your consent — which covers most HiveFoldr information, as described in section 8 — you also have the right to ask for a copy of it in a portable format. This portability right does not apply to the website technical data that Vercel processes as an independent controller, or to website data we process under legitimate interests (see section 15).
You can delete most of your own HiveFoldr data directly within the app, and export a copy of it as described in section 11. For anything else, or for the website, contact us at hello@gorantlalabs.com.
20. How to complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please contact us first at hello@gorantlalabs.com so we can try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office:
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
21. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the website or HiveFoldr changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
22. Contact us
