Dice Roller

Part of Games & Play

Roll. Play. Repeat.

DiceOrbit is a realistic, physics-based 3D dice roller — roll with the Roll button (hold it to roll faster), with optional shake to roll, haptic feedback and audio.

DiceOrbit is currently in development.

Tabletop games need dice, and dice aren't always to hand — but a number that simply appears on a screen is hard to trust.

DiceOrbit is built natively for iPhone. It rolls real 3D dice on a physics table and reads the result from how they come to rest, so every result is one you can see.

What's inside DiceOrbit

  • Seven dice, from D4 to D100
  • Up to ten dice at once
  • Real physics — dice collide and settle
  • Roll button, with hold to roll faster
  • Twelve solar-system colour themes
  • Roll history saved on your device

Nothing is faked: a D100 is a percentile pair — a tens die and a units die — thrown together and read as one result, so every number comes from dice you can see on the table.

You roll with the Roll button; hold it to keep the dice rolling. Shake to roll is optional and can be turned off in Settings. The dice are for watching: tapping, flicking or dragging a die does not roll it.
